Service To The World
Jesus taught us to reach out to the marginalized of the world - the poor, the sick, the discouraged, the weak, the lost, and the discarded. We are always working to meet the needs of those whom society has rejected, ignored, or judged too harshly.
- Care to Share: Assist with fundraising, food drives, etc., to contribute to this organization of local churches serving the needy.
- Good Neighbor Shelter: A different team each month helps to prepare a meal for shelter residents.
- Youth Mission Trip: Support our high schoolers as they serve various organizations for a week each Summer.
- Ryan's Well: Raise funds to help this organization dig wells to provide fresh water to under-developed communities.
- Africa S.M.I.L.E.: Work with this Lutheran humanitarian relief organization that provides a helping hand to the economically and socially disadvantaged region of Singida in the East African country of Tanzania.
- Jubilee: Work for awareness and financial support for this national organization to assist impoverished countries by forgiving foreign debt.
Social Action
We are a small part of a big world, and we take our responsibility in it seriously. Members work to build understanding, peace, justice, acceptance, eco-responsibility, and many other important areas of social action. In addition to the organizations formally supported by our church, members contribute time and dollars to a variety of action groups that promote these values
- Peace & Justice: Identify, promote and support organizations that fight to overcome injustice and violence.
- GLBT: We invite and welcome our gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and trans-gender neighbors to participate in the body of Christ.
- Green Team: Promote awareness and responsibility for our planets health.
Community Building
Wherever two or more of you are gathered in my name, there is love. Matthew 18:20
Our relationships with one another are an integral part of our job as followers of Christ. Connecting through the important events in our lives as well as in our church helps keep us connected to one another and to our shared devotion to our faith.
